An Exercise in Futility

This was a design inspired by the book How to Pronounce Knife by Souvankham Thammavongsa. In one of the stories, the main character’s mother (who works as a worm collector) loses out on a promotion to a much less qualified person based on superficial judgements by their supervisor, and this causes problems when years of wisdom are dashed to make way for cost-cutting measures. This imagined packaging for bait worms is done in a pastiche of the style of the Canadian generic brand No Name, and has “innovative” features that superficially seem like they make sense, but since the core concept of marketing live worms in a cardboard box is so fundamentally flawed they come across as ridiculous.
