Graphic/Web Design:
StoryWalk at MacEwan University

A StoryWalk is a means of making a storybook into an environmental experience by spreading the pages, printed largely and attractively, across a given space. StoryWalk at MacEwan University is no different, with the lavishly illustrated pages of Canadian books spread across MacEwan’s downtown Edmonton campus. Travelling between interior spaces, under the towers and between the trees in Heather’s Garden, visitors can look forward to a new book being featured every couple of months.

My role in this project has been to assist in creating collateral, and applying a previously created visual identity and layout template to their website and future book titles. I have created a postcard, a bookmark, map graphics for use on the displays, icons for specific wayfinding purposes, a more child-friendly version of the map for handouts, and additional single-use collateral like signs and programs when required. This project is ongoing, and I continue to create new layouts for books as they are rotated as well as various other duties.

Storywalk’s website can be found at http://macewan.ca/storywalk.

The StoryWalk at MacEwan visual identity, and the template for the book displays were created by Clay Lowe.
